Terms
The terms for using TransferPlanner, in plain words.
Effective October 29, 2026.
In short
- A planning tool, not admission or academic advice. Confirm anything important with a counselor and the official source; at a California community college, that includes ASSIST.
- Never a promise of admission, a seat in a class or credit for a course.
- For people 13 and older. Under 18, a parent or guardian agrees to these terms for you.
- What you enter is yours: download it or delete it at any time.
- Plus is $9 a month after a 7-day free trial. Nothing is charged unless you start it, and cancelling before the trial ends costs nothing. See Pricing.
Agreeing to these terms
- By making an account or using TransferPlanner, you agree to these terms and to how Privacy says we handle your information. If you don't agree, don't use it.
Who can use it
- You must be 13 or older.
- If you're under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has read these terms and agrees to them for you.
- Your account is for you alone. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
What TransferPlanner is
- A planning tool. It organizes your courses, a university's published transfer rules and your plan, and shows what's confirmed and what isn't.
- It isn't admission advice or academic advice, and it isn't a counselor. Colleges and universities decide admission, credit and whether a course counts.
- TransferPlanner is a planning tool. Confirm your plan with your counselor and the official sources it links to.
- At a California community college, that includes ASSIST, the official record of how courses transfer to UC and CSU.
- It isn't affiliated with ASSIST, UC, CSU or any college.
No guarantees
- Each rule shows its source and when we checked it, but rules change, and our reading of a page can be wrong or incomplete. Confirm anything important with the official source or a counselor before you rely on it.
- The best a plan can say is “On track on paper”. That's never a promise of admission, a seat in a class or credit for a course.
- A likely match is only a lead: it never counts toward a requirement until the match is confirmed or you enter it yourself.
- TransferPlanner is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond what these terms say, including that it's accurate, complete or always available.
Your account and your data
- What you enter is yours. You can download it or delete it at any time; Privacy says how.
- You let us store and process what you enter only to run TransferPlanner for you.
- What you enter yourself, like a course match you checked, counts only for you.
- A share link you create shows your summary to anyone who has it, until it expires or you revoke it.
Using it fairly
- Use TransferPlanner for your own planning, or to help someone with theirs with their permission.
- Don't upload someone else's transcript or information without their permission.
- Don't try to get into other people's accounts or data, get around its limits or security, or overload it.
- Don't copy its contents in bulk, with a script or otherwise.
- We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, or to protect other students or the service.
Paying
TransferPlanner has one plan, Plus, at $9 a month after a 7-day free trial. You add a card to start the trial, and Stripe charges it when the trial ends unless you cancel first. There's one free trial per account. Without Plus, you can still sign in to download or delete your data. How renewals, cancellation, failed payments and refunds work is on Pricing.
While payments are off, as they are during early access, every account has all of today's features and nothing is charged.
Limits on our liability
- As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses from using TransferPlanner or relying on it, such as a missed deadline, an admission decision, or a course that doesn't transfer.
- As far as the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about TransferPlanner is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
- Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Changes and ending
- We may change these terms. We post every change here with a new effective date, and tell you in the app or by email before a change that matters applies to you.
- You can stop using TransferPlanner and delete your account at any time, in Settings.
Who runs TransferPlanner
